Back to Manti: A Tale of Family and Heart”
In a camper they slept, all cozy and tight,
A family of nine, under stars each night.
From tall Royce to baby sweet Primrose fair,
They traveled with love and stories to share.
Mom packed the snacks, Dad checked the tires,
They followed the road, through dreams and desires.
To Manti they went, to laugh and to play,
To see old friends they’d missed every day.
---
Royce was the oldest, strong, tall, and fast,
He dreamed of the future, and learned from the past.
He threw the football with a confident grin,
And reminded them all: "Teamwork will win!"
Jesse with books in his lap every mile,
Read stories aloud with a calm, steady smile.
He said, “Let’s be kind. Let’s listen. Let’s grow.”
His stories brought peace wherever they'd go.
Shiloh could flip, could run, kick, and spin—
At soccer or splits, she'd always win.
She taught them to try, and never give in,
Even when journeys felt thin as a pin.
Jonah, poor boy, was sick on the ride,
He slept with a blanket tucked close to his side.
But even in sickness, he softly said,
"I’m grateful for love and a trailer bed."
Rockwell, with muscles and glasses just right,
Had a soft little voice, but a heart big and bright.
He helped baby Prim and tucked her in bed,
And said, “Kindness is louder than shouting,” he said.
Sundance, the five-year-old wild little star,
Lost a tooth last week but still shined from afar.
He asked “Why?” and “How?” and had so much to say—
"Being yourself is the best kind of way!"
Primrose, the baby, both sassy and sweet,
Danced in the camper with bare little feet.
She smiled at strangers and waved like a queen,
"Be sweet and be strong, and don’t be too mean!"
Then back in the Escalade with the music turned low,
They whispered and dreamed of the place they would go.
Back to Manti, where the old house stood,
Creaky and cracked, but a home that felt good.
With peeling paint and a rusty old floor,
But dreams in their hearts and tools to restore.
They said, “We can fix it, together we’ll try!”
As they looked at the home with a family sigh.
---
So what is the moral? What’s good to recall?
It’s not where you live, it’s the love in us all.
Be brave like Royce, be kind like Jess,
Try hard like Shiloh and help in a mess.
Be grateful like Jonah,
Be quiet but strong like Rockwell,
Be curious like Sundance, even when wrong.
Be sweet like Prim, and together you’ll see—
A family in love is the best place to be.
